Welcome
Inpatient Medicine Service is a private practice
composed of Board Certified Internal Medicine
physicians. Our physicians practice
exclusively in the hospital. You may have
heard this type of physician referred to as a
hospitalist or intensivist; either term is
correct.
Our primary
concern is to manage your care while in the
hospital. When you are discharged from the
hospital it is your responsibility to make an
appointment with your primary care physician.
A discharge summary dictated by one of our
physicians will be faxed to your physician after
you have left the hospital.
There may be
situations when one of our physicians has been
asked to see you by a surgeon. This practice
is very common if situations arise that are
medical in nature rather than surgical.

Our physicians are on call
for patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,
365 days of the year. We are not
employees of the hospital. Our billing is
done internally and our staff is available
to assist you with any concerns regarding
the billing process. As a service to you,
we will bill your insurance company for all
services rendered by our physicians. After
we receive information from your insurance
company, we will send you a statement with a
balance due (if any).
